How Focal works
Focal is founder-led. The person who reads the requisition is the person who runs the search and the person on the phone — no handoff from a salesperson to a sourcer who has never seen a plant.
On a job board a process engineer and a controls engineer are both just “engineer,” and a recruiter who cannot tell them apart wastes everyone’s week. Focal reads a requisition the way the hiring manager wrote it: what the line actually makes, which part of the process the role owns, and whether the opening exists because someone left or because a commissioning date is slipping.
Searches are taken on a few at a time and worked closely. Employers get a shortlist with reasons attached rather than a stack of résumés; candidates get a straight account of the role and an answer on where things stand.
